THE PINES OF ROME
THE PINES OF ROME
Written by Marty McCartt, this show is based on and inspired by the acclaimed tone poem by Ottorino Respighi, which pays tribute to the sceneries in the city of Rome. The upbeat movement one, Pines of the Village Borghese, gets the show off to a lively start as it depicts children at play in a pine grove. Movement two, Pines near the Catacomb/Pines of the Janiculum, is darker, almost hauntingly so. Movement three, Pines of the Appian Way, starts with a lighter mood depicting a moonlit scene with nightingales singing and finishes with a powerful finale. Find out this season if all roads do lead to Rome!
